Council 5561 - Warrenton, VA

WELCOME

LADIES AUXILIARY

The Ladies Auxiliary of Warrenton, Virginia was founded in July of 1983.  We were formed primarily to provide support to the Knights of Columbus Fr. Herman J. Veger Council #5561.  Our mission is to establish growth and Christian fellowship among our members.

We have two fundraisers that we hold annually.  One in the Fall and Spring (Ladies Auxiliary Bake Sale) and the other in the Spring ONLY (Ladies Auxiliary Indoor Yard Sale.)  All proceeds are donated to various charities and ministries associated with our parish and within our local community.

Anyone who is related to a Knight (active or deceased) is invited to attend our monthly annual meetings (see below).  If you would like to become a member, please print out the form (also see below) and bring the completed form and membership fee of $10.00 to the monthly meeting.  Forms will be collected by our Treasurer.

INSPIRATIONAL PRAYER

PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

COMFORT AND JOY BLANKETS

In August, 2016,  due to prolonged rainfall, the state of Louisiana was severely flooded and declared a "natural disastrous state."  Liz Shaw and Mary Winholtz wanted to help and do something for those affected by the flood.  Liz and Mary headed up a group of Ladies and made "Comfort and Joy Blankets."  40 fleece blankets were made.  They were shipped to St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana on 11/17/2016.  The students were delighted to receive the blankets.
